My guess... It probably doesn't have electrolytic caps on board. I was just thinking the other day about these probes lasting so long. Amazing!
 
They used NASA spec'd parts, they are a little tougher than the stuff used in the electronics we like.

That PU-238 has a half-life of 87 years so the craft will slowly lose its power source in the next 100+ years.
