Can't ID exactly (Hitachi receiver)... but... my gut tells me "These aren't the droids you are looking for."

Looks like a BIC 980 TT and a T-1 tape deck. I've owned both and thought they were great performers for the price. The T-1 is a two speed deck

Turntable is a BIC 980, tape deck also BIC.

Receiver, I don't know. Probably fairly expensive when new.

After a bit of sleuthing, I have an ID on the receiver. Its actually a pretty nice looking unit. Looks like it was sold in the US and Europe.

Its an Akai AS-1080DB Quad receiver: http://audioklassiks.de/wordpress/?p=1120

PS: I'd go for all those components, but receiver first, then table, then tape deck. The tables were known for gummed up bearings and cams, tape decks were good but most cassettes of any brand require servicing and belts.

Ahhhhh, thanks a bunch. I've been looking for a match to that receiver based on pics and descriptions but was coming up empty. The sale isn't until next weekend. Hopefully I can make it to check it out. I'm interested in the TT and Rec'r. I don't need another cassette deck...but if the price is right. To the right of the TT there is also what appears to be a Pioneer CD player/changer like I used to have.

The receiver is worth getting.
I worked on one once for my buddy. It had not been treated well.

I'm think there will be four speakers because the receiver is a quad.

FWIW IIRC that receiver has a stereo mode only option.
The meters on that are multi function.
The DB use is cool

The only drawback is that it used power pack outputs.
If you can, make sure it works properly.

I hope the OP enjoys the receiver. I can see why some folks were put off by the complexity of quadraphonic -- so many controls to get right! Good luck with your purchase!
