I'd Like to Introduce Myself

Welcome!

I was wondering if you were any relation to, Terrapin? :scratch2: QUOTE]

I knew someone would bring this up. Acutally, I think terapin is an acceptable alternative spelling. Still, when I registered I thought I had typed in 2 rs. (Next time I register for something I'll make sure I'm dead sober.) No way to change it now! :D

Not what I meant.

Terrapin introduced himself a few days before you.

Again, enjoy your stay!

Pee Wee in a Ferrari, I would have guessed he'd be in a Shelby cobra, oh well...
I hope you like Pee Wee, he plays old Chicago style jazz, but he's a real risk taker. Often reminds me of Monk, who I also like. Peter
Welcome Pete. I think you and I have a lot of musical tastes in common. Pee Wee is one of my favorites too. He plays with Monk on the 'Miles and Monk at Newport' album. (one side is Miles, the other Monk and Pee Wee is on the whole Monk side)

Hi Brett and thanks for the welcome. I didn't know Monk and Russell ever played together. And a live recording at that! I'll definately keep my eye open for it. Thanks.

Hey Peter, Excellent intro.

I bet in a year with the help of AK members you will have a great system (or systems) and really enjoy your excellent taste in music.

Have fun, Snade

Welcome to AK.

Welcome Peter, another Western Washington member!
We are a bunch of fanatics around here, but I've made some lasting friendships and AK is the best site on the internet.

Welcome Peter. As well-defined and deep as your listening preferences are, you are sure to find new things, even within those areas, as you venture into this motley assembly of music lovers. I don't think you could have mentioned three more authentic music genres. Love em all. I'll bet you look for some of the same qualities in the rock and classical music you listen to as well. And just one more guess - I'll bet you don't listen to commercial radio. Hey, there's no secrets here.:smoke:

Regards,

D-Ray

Thanks for the encouragement, Snade. I'm certain that with a little help, and a little luck, I'll have a great system--but it had better be sooner than next year! :D

Good to meet another Western Washingtonian, Casey. I can already tell this is an abnormally good crowd. (Or maybe it's just an abnormal one?!) So are we going to have a summer this year, or will it be a one-day affair like the last one? (I know, summer doesn't start 'til the last week of July.) :thumbsdn:

You guessed right D-Ray. :thmbsp:

Where about in Western Washington are you from? I lived in Oak Harbor and Bellingham for a while. My wife is from Port Angeles.

Right now I'm living in Seattle. But that could change at any minute. I Spent 3 years in Olympia before that. Olympia is a remarkable town for its size. And Seattle is, well, itself (<grin>). Sounds like you have some deep roots here in Washington. I'm originally from North Carolina, and came here by way of Austin, TX.
