I just picked up a Garrard Type A MkII at my local thrift store. It appears to work, but before I start any kind of restoration effort, I wondered about the cartridge that came with it. It looks vintage, but I couldn't find any manufacturer's name. (I haven't tried removing the stylus yet.) Was it perhaps made and supplied by Garrard? Any help you wise and knowledgeable folks out there can offer would be appreciated.

You may want to post this over at Lenco Heaven or Audioasylum. I know i saw that cartridge before and I think it was someone asking about it on Lenco heaven.

It could be a Decca but don't hold me to it

Looks pretty neat.

That kinda looks like the old fat body ADC I have that I can't find a stylus for. I got mine off my Garrard Type A-II. Pull it off and see if there is a label on the top. I think thats where mine was.

'Tis indeed an ADC. One of Peter Parker's first after he left GE. I believe that the red ones were ADC-2s, but don't quote me on that. Your chances of finding a stylus for it are... well, go buy some Lotto tickets instead. Below is a fuzzy pic of my ADC-1, which still sounds terrific.

I think that you're probably right. Thanks to all of you for the responses, and the expertise.
