identification challenge

these just came up locally. guy claims "custom made" ...but knows no more

those mids are philips / woofer looks philips too .......emit tweeter?
port style is not what I would expect in this design

I have never seen anything like them / they sure look manufactured to me . Drivers and felt are circa late 70's

Any help would be appreciated

My guess is that they *were* manufactured, but then a hobbyist got in and started replacing parts when the foams went and/or the tweeters blew. Looks like two Philips dome mids and a Panasonic leaf tweeter IIRC.

if you look closely at the felt damping : it does have a hand-cut look to it ....maybe thats the "custom" : but I have never seen vinyl veneer look like that in a home made piece Im guessing the woofer is original to the cabinet because of the port....any other guesses on that tweeter?

Radio Shack or the JVC original planar from which the R/S was "modeled". Both very nice drivers.
