Identify capacitor in Advent crossover

yes, the big one is 32uf. I need to find the capacitance of the small one. The markings are only on the one side of the small capacitor (the same markings are repeated twice vertically).
Looks like you'll have to remove and measure it.

I just ordered capacitors and resistors from Parts Express. I ordered a 6.2mf for the smaller one and a 33mf for the large one. I'll try to remember to verify when I get home.

My Advent Legacy II had 6 uF and 32 uF electrolytic caps installed originally. I replaced them with 6.2 and 33 uF film caps too.

I just re-capped a pair of Legacy two days ago.
I used a Dayton Audio DMPC-6.2 6.2uF 250V Polypropylene Capacitor along with a 15uF and a 17uF electrolytic wired in parallel to give 32uF.
(I could have used a 33uF film cap. Didn't mostly because they're frickin' huge.)

Yes, the 33's are HUGE. Didn't think about that before I ordered them.

Did it make a large difference in the sound? I still debating about getting better coils too.

There was an improvement when I recapped my Legacy II speakers with film caps. The Legacy II is not as old as the Legacy I, so you should notice an improvement too.
I would not bother replacing the coils. The Legacy speakers are OK speakers, but not great speakers. They are not worth spending a lot of money restoring. I tried selling my Legacy II and I could not even get back my investment ($110 for speakers, foam, and caps). They are doing garage duty, but will be replaced soon.

Thanks. That's what I was thinking. I remember these speakers being one of those to drool over at the local HiFi shop years ago; now it seems not many care about them.

I'm a big fan of the Legacies. I have a ton of speakers, but I find the Legacies very easy to listen to. I have mine in the MBR and generally listen to them early in the morning while I check my emails and news on my tablet. My opinion is its the best of the Jensen era (and post Jensen) Advents. Not to start an arguement with the early Advents fans, but I'd choose a Legacy over an original Advent.
The only Advents I haven't had a chance to listen to or evaluate are the Maestoes or Advent Legacy III. The L3 used a different woofer with dual voice coils, and a switch so you can select either 6 or 8 ohm impedance. I've read that the speaker voicing is noticably different between them. I'd like to get my hands on a set of Maestros and Legacy III's. I'll keep checking CL for something local in WA state.
