I don't recognize it, but judging by the relatively cheap tape deck and speakers nearby, I wouldn't expect too much.

How can you tell it's a cheap tape deck if you can't tell what the receiver or the speakers are I wonder?

The speakers are small infinity's, likely RS 2000 or so, not great, not bad.
the receiver and tape deck are certainly worth a look,,,,,,,,,,,,
 
MCS was big into the whiteface and long skinny meters ...

Looks like they are selling out an old church or related (rectory) facility or home. Couldn't quite ID the lower receiver, looks decent enough for a look though.

True that, but it isn't uncommon to replace the polycells with pyle or pro audio's. The cabinets are a dead ringer for the RS series infinity,,,,,,, without a better view anyway.

I wouldn't necessarily deem the cassette deck cheap just because it has an 8 track on it. I remember when we were all scrambling to make the transition from 8 track to cassette and most people started their collection over again from scratch. I would think if it had been cheap to dub from 8 track to cassette a lot of people would have,,,,,,,, so I'd bet it was pretty costly for the day to pay for that capability.

wouldn't be the first time,,,,,, however I do remember making the transition and had it not been for the lack of fidelity inherent to 8 tracks I would have gladly paid up for gear to salvage hundreds of 8 track music tapes I had.

The common listener would not notice the quality difference so much but I grew up as a musician and was all about good sound so I knew better than try and copy 8 tracks.

The old units with 8 track, tuner, phono, cassette, cup holder, ashtray, etc were generally no name and cheap, but over priced. Many people bought them because they had everything, but audio enthusiasts knew better. The unit in the OP is not of that flavor, and I suspect that, though it may not be a popular or sought after piece in the current vintage market, it also was likely not cheap for the time.
 
KLH AV-33, These aren't as bad as I thought they'd be but I wouldn't pay much for them (these were free).
