Identify these woofers in Snell E

There is a set of Type E within driving distance. Having previously owned A/iii (for which I no longer have room), I'd like to have a nice set of Snells again. These are clearly not the original woofers. Can anyone identify them. My thought is that they are not appropriate Vifa drivers, nor are they Audio Note drivers (the hemp cones are blue but not woven, right?). They guy claims that the person who installed them "really knew what they were doing". I figured I'd give that statement the benefit of the doubt and see if anyone here had any idea.

I don’t know anything about them but perhaps that’s enough to investigate their suitability for this application.
 
Wow, I should've thought of that. You nailed it though. So, they are ostensibly decent drivers but designed for use in a very different application...in-ceiling speakers. Leads me to believe they are not going to sound their best at all in a type E cabinet.
 
Doubtful.
Snells claim of tuning each speaker to a "master" speaker has been mentioned many times on AK.
Evidently two vendors offer Snell replacement parts. At least one of them may offer need capacitors or other crossover parts needed when selling replacement drivers.
So while they might be good drivers in their own right, most likely they won't produce the OEM Snell voicing.
As shown they are Frankenspeakers and no longer true Snells.
 
Yeah, not touching those. I also had a look at the seller's feedback and it isn't very good. If I find myself in Denver I'll make an offer low enough to account for the need to purchase replacement woofers. The AN woofers aren't cheap but it seems that appropriate Vifa woofers are sometimes available. Otherwise, I'll be patient and wait to cross paths with a good set of Snells.

I am well aware of Peter Snell and his methods. My A/iii crossovers bore evidence of individual tuning. Snell crossovers are probably among the few that I'd actually measure the old components for actual resistance, capacitance, ESR, etc. if I had a notion to replace any of them.
