Yamaha had subwoofers built similar to those I always wanted one. But never got one ever haha. A downfire Omni direction sub?

Those were the speakers to the Electrophonic compact from the early 70's. Omnidirectional and a copy of the Zenith Circle of Sound.
Morse/Electrophonic omni speakers were cheap plastic crap of lower quality than these appear to be.

How about Electrohome?

Another seller of the same type speakers in the OP identified a 6.5 inch down firing woofer and a Foster tweeter.

The down-firing woofer was a 6.5 in. Alnico paired with a Foster tweeter firing upward into a conical dispersion lens. As described, these had well made cabinets, as well, with wool lining the interior.

UPDATE 3/18/2011 - A thoughtful fellow Ebayer has indicated that these were made by Electrohome. I could not find comparable pics but it wouldn't surprise me. Electrohome as I understand was a Canadian company that primarily used Jensen components.

I have been surprised at good some of these obviously crappy speakers sound. Don't expect great frequency extension, but the typical single driver designs offer a coherence lacking in most inexpensive multi driver speakers, and while the omni thing isn't my beau ideal, it has real charm in some situations - outside, they sound dramatically better than most normal speakers. It's a pity (or is it?) that what ever virtues they have are probably best heard by people lying down, since floor mounting pretty much ensures that whatever limited high frequencies they produce won't be particularly noticeable at seated or standing height.
