I'm sort of crazy, don't you think?

Hi,

I want to start a project of taking a middle price turntable to the next level.
What I want to do is to take a DD turntable disassemble it, change the plinth for another made with layers or silestone, lead and rubber, installing high quality vibration isolators in place of the regular feet, recap and so on.

My candidates are Fisher 6225 and Realistic Lab 400

This is just for the sake of pleasure

Sounds fun. For me it would be the Fisher. I think those are great looking tables.

I'd be thinking of a liquid deadening material for under the turntable platter to eliminate vibration, something that has a hardener already mixed in like a polyurethane. Did that to my turntable platter and it sounded like a completely different turntable..... A plinth is a good idea as many have done before but there is still that platter bearing under the vinyl !!!!!
