Most theatre speakers in the old days are really good, don't know about IMAX?

This page says they were made by Sonics Associates who were bought out by IMAX. Also claims "JBL guts, my friend". The speakers in the pictures look the same.

Always wondered what was behind those screens and what drives them. Now, getting them would make one heck of a HT system. Hard to imagine them being discarded and what on earth did they replace them with; gotta be something a deaf alien could hear on Pluto.

That's quite a find. If you have the power and space for them, I'd think they'd be mighty.
