Look to be in very nice condition. Also appears the driver mounting board has been entirely covered with felt...

These are nice, I used to own a similar pair. I think they're overpriced by at least a few hundred.

That's not original?

You are probably right, in that Kef 103.2's go for $400 or so, but these are rarer so I'd say $500-600 is fair, given the condition!

Not original as far as I know. Mine weren't / aren't covered in felt. It might be an improvement though....

And yes, probably overpriced. Mine were less than half that, though admittedly not in as nice condition.

if in great condition, they are worthy of paying $700 for, IMHO. i miss my RSPM-IV's all the time!

I used to sell them, for some reason they don't look quite right... The felt might be a good idea but it's a mod, and the super tweeter used to be a microphone diaphragm, not what is shown in the photos. And yes I knew "Bud" Fried, but we called him Mr. Fried at our store. And yes, that dust cap is totally inverted. No biggie.

The tweeter is the Celestion HF2000. Early units had the exposed microphone diaphragm dome but they proved very fragile and poke-worthy. Later versions came with the protective perforated grille that you see on these speakers (similar to the Spendor BC1).

The original TLS80 usually had a veneered baffle board that was quite attractive and voiced with that in mind. The felt may help imaging to prevent spurious secondary reflections but as above, is a mod.

These seem to me the Fried IMF versions, instead of the original IMF TLS80's that were originally sold in England, but imported to the US by Fried.

Pretty expensive to ship unfortunately for the buyer.

True if the buyer is outside of the SoCal area. In my experience, if its within a couple hours drive, that gives me additional leeway in bidding. Relatively local pickup also provides for less shipping damage potential.

If I was in the market for these, a $500 bid wouldn't have been out of the question.

Some IMF and Fried connoisseurs should take a look at the link. B-2 and T model drivers on ebay.
Yesterday I saw a pair of Dalesford D153 sold in U.S. for almost 44$ a pair. They were stock versions. Owner claimed Fried used them But Fried versions had larger motor.
Fried always removed labels on back of drivers. My opinion is they are clones with stock woofers. Hard to tell on 10" woofer becauses photo not showing length of pole piiece
