Not mine. Mine are Super Big Reds with the Altec 604E2 and a 15" Utah. Just a local listing.

Appear to have been custom made by South Coast Sound as production units based on the serial numbers. Don't know if they bought Urei stuff and built around it or were a Urei affiliate.

It is the same or very similar 18" woofer as OEM'd to Renkus Heinz by Electrovoice.

There's just about an ice cube's chance in hell that it's a RARE Altec 3182. But, there is a slim possibility of that.

Interesting about the woofer Bowtie. I hadn’t even thought of the 3182, but those things are like unicorns right?
I was just thinking it had a foam surround like the Eminence 800w woofer in the Urei cabs. I was thinking the Renkus woofers had cloth accordion surrounds. Not that they couldn’t spec it with foam for this also

Edit: I asked the seller if he knew what the 18” woofers were. He said they are JBL. I’m not sure if that’s correct though. They don’t look like 2245. What other JBL 18” woofers have foam surrounds?

I have read the rules and know what they say. And yes he should have put “not mine”. But I think we can assume that a well respected, 10+ year member of AK knows better than to post his own ads in the D&S section where they don’t belong.

I don't post here to "help a sale" but to show stuff that is out of the ordinary. Unforetunately, because most of it occurs on the local C/L, this is the only place that I can post it.

When I have something to sell/buy, I post in BarterTown.

No other 18" JBL has a foam surround, the 2245H is unique in that regard. Also, most all JBL 18" drivers use a ribbed cone, many with a back coating of Aquaplas. The very large 18" E155 does have a smooth cone like this one but uses a corregated cloth surround. The K155 is similar.
