Infinity Column II up there with other vintage Infinity?

I would say NO! I had a one owner pair from local seller - great shape - with the glass tops no less. In my opinions these can in no way shape or form match the Monitors II , IIas. I found bass lacking, mid-range weak, highs overly bright. To each his own I guess, but I was extremely disappointed in them.
I just picked up a pair yesterday from a guy who was giving them away.
He went 5.1 Bose stuff.
Just like Koogars, the pair I got were quite attractive however I found them to have plenty of bass and midrange and I was even surprised at my first time listen to the Motorola piezos. They weren't bad

i like my column II's a lot (and i have quite a few vintage infinitys).
i have monitor IIa's, and column II's. both recapped and all original drivers. both models are very listenable speakers, and i'll be keeping mine. in my experience with side by side comparison, bass is about the same from the two models (substantial). i find my column II's are significantly better than the monitor IIa's in both the mids and highs. that's probably the reason that column II's cost twice as much as the monitor IIa when new.
that said, the column II's can not compete with my emit-equipped infinities.

whatever someone will pay. as with anything, condition, originality, and functionality will come into play. but they tend to be undervalued in today's market, and go for less than they should given how good they are.

These do sound quite good and will sound better with fresh surrounds on the down-firing woofers.
Rated down to 35Hz.
Again I'm surprised at the front and rear-firing piezoelectric tweeters(crossed over at 5kHz+) working so well in this design.

glad you've got some column II's in your stable. the woofer i see in your photo is not original. what about the others? infinity said the column II was an advancement of the WTLC theroy. they made a big deal about the piezos being "specially hand modified." i was never a fan of piezos, but these made a convert of me.

These woofers were Infinity replacements back in the day and I believe were used on models like the POSII, they measure exact resistance as the originals that are going to be freshened up with new surrounds.
I agree , I always had been a piezo bigot but then again, my favorite all time tweeter is the HPM-200 piezoelectric modules

these retailed for around $1500 when new. depending on condition, originality, and functionality, $275 could be justified. could they be found cheaper? no doubt (as tubed can attest). but, like most vintage infinitys, the market for these is climbing, and supplies of good, complete originals are dwindling. personally, i wouldn't even entertain offers of less than $400 for mine.
