infinity cs3006 opinions

thevic24

deep in sound thought
i have the chance to grab up a minty fresh set of infinity cs 3006's at a very good price imo.
both the woofers and mids have fresh foam surrounds and the grilles and cabinets are absoultly perfect, they have been very well taken care of.

iam looking for something to match up with my kappa 6.1's and these look like a good choice so far.

any thoughts on these, how they sound and preform, etc?

thanks for your help.

gratuitous photo op use mine for rears in my home theater paired with CS-3008 fronts and a Kappa video center As a stand alone I don't think they'd last in my system the dahlquist in the background have blown away everything I've put up against them but for the theater system they mate very well I don't think I'd pay more than $100 bucks for them though

hey, thoes speakers that the infinity is sitting on, is that a klh barron?
i had a small set that looked just like that. they had blue coned woofers with rotted green foam surrounds. they did not have any markings but has a small(1") port that was stuffed with fiberglass and the woofer was an 8".

yep they're the little barons which were the 2 way sold them a bit ago but i found them to be a very nice sounding speaker

$75 for the 3006's is a pretty good deal. As I said I don't think I'd use them as a stand alone they're just not as smooth and musical sounding as the dahlquist or even the baron's for that matter but for the home theater application as rears they shine

I have a set of 3006s that I used for home theater until recently, then moved them into my bedroom for use in that system. They are rather amp-dependent on their sound; they seem to like my HK 930 receiver quite a bit. They'd probably absolutely sing on tubes. They do image rather nicely in my experience.
