No longer for sale.

[analog addict]

Somebody must have wanted 'em bad (besides me) and had the cash to back it up....

[totem]

Curious what the asking price was?

[Infinity!]

It was like 28,900!!! So cheap. I hope a fellow ak'er got em!

[JosephH]

It looks like they have been relisted. Price reduced to $28,500!! Run!

[analog addict]

Wonder if the wife would notice if I took out a second mortgage?

[audiomagnate]

My guess is that they'll sell pretty quick. I wish I had the cash, as I have a room that would be just about perfect for them just waiting.

Are those all stock drivers? Most of the IRS I've seen had the grey Watkins woofers in them. But then most I've seen had a lighter Oak veneer cabinet. Possible these are a later version.

These are beyond Hernia Class, because if you can afford them, you can also afford to pay someone to bring them to your house and put them in whatever spot you point to.

[kurtgo]

Austin, TX, too! I'm going to sell the car, two motorcycles, 3 amps, 4 sets of speakers and all my cassette tapes!

The "grey Watkins woofers" were used in the earlier IRS systems. I've seen clear poly dual-coil Watkins IRS speakers too. The later IRS-Vs had the IMG poly graphite woofers.

Nice garage system speakers.

I know, right?! IRS V's for his "third system"...must be rough! Not that I can complain either, I'm happy with my gear, but DAMN!

[nicholas9976]

Nice garage system speakers.

How much were these IRS V speakers being sold for?

[sixthday]

Oh boy...

[audiomagnate]

How much were these IRS V speakers being sold for?

The original IRS sold for $40 K. I think the V went out at around 100.
