Infinity Kappa 5

A buddy of mine recently gifted me a pair of Kappa 5 bookshelf speakers that he's had for some time. He found them at a yard sale or at a thrift. The woofers needed refoaming since he's had them. He told me that he would never get them fixed so I might as well have them.
Anyway, since acquiring them I've replaced the foam. Both ribbon EMIT tweeters work fine. I was astonished at the quality of sound that these put out. Bass is good and the highs are fantastic.
When my buddy came over to hear them finally working, I stated that he may want them back after hearing them!
He was happy to hear them and see them go to a good home!
I did some research and discovered they were only produced for one year and are rather rare. Looked on ebay and found two pairs for sale. Both were in Japan. One set was asking 1k, the other 900! Wow!
Does anyone else here have these speakers? If so, what's your take on them. Do they astonish you with their sound vs. their size? Do you know the original retail price of these?
Just curious. I enjoy knowing the history/specks on vintage gear that I own. Picture was taken before I20250621_154715[1].jpg refoamed them. Thanks

All the kappas are good. The 5’s are perfect for jazz and vocals. I am a huge fan of the 6’s
There were a pair of Kappa 7's available locally to me last month but I ended up getting a pair of Kappa 8's that were also for sale. Woofers were refoamed and the polydome mids had been replaced with SimplySpeakers version. Speakers are in great condition and sound great! They kicked my Yamaha ns-1000m's to the living room system for now.
Feeling lucky owning two Infinity models, where just last month I had never even listened to any.
