Infinity Kappa 8's Missing Base - Need to buy or Dimensions to Fabricate?

Hi Folks,
I just bought a pair of Infinity Kappa 8's, great condition, except for two things: The Base plates are missing, and I've looked everywhere, but nowhere to be found, so I think I'll just Fabricate them, unless someone has a pair for sale? Does anyone own a pair? And could I impose on someone to get me the dimensions I need to fabricate them? And any pictures would be a great help as well?

The other issue is they have replacement 3rd party oddball midrange speakers where the Polydome Mids should be, these have an inverted dome, and just look out of place! I've seen 3rd party lookalikes, but I prefer original. Any suggestions? eBay either has junk that need to be rebuilt or outrageous prices for rebuilt ones! Any suggestions would be a great help!

There has been much discussion on Audiokarma regarding the subject of polydomes over the past few years. While there have been quite a few recommendations regarding replacements, reports indicate that nothing is quite like the original. Since you don't have the originals, you might need to purchase an inexpensive broken set with an intact voice coil, then send them to Millersound for repair (I think they charge about $100 each for this service).

Have you pulled the mids to see the type you currently have? I'm curious; by your description I'm guessing they're a Chinese driver, but would like to know the details.

Regarding the stand, I'll try to take a few minutes this weekend to get the details for you.

No not yet, but they don't even look like the common replacements I seen online, and I would prefer the originals, so the rebuild may be the only option, although even the Millersound ones use the Black cone? I don't see why someone can't replicate the white cone (at a reasonable cost) someones selling something on eBay for $150 a pair for two translucent cones, don't even know if its original material?

That would be Fantastic, I really appreciate it. Not only do I like the look, but Stability, and I believe there's a time alignment factor as well?

I'm not sure how much time alignment played a part in their design, you'll note that of all the speakers Infinity made at the time, only the Kappa 8 and 9 were slanted back (also, being planars, the EMITs actually shouldn't be farther back than the lower domes)..
 
I had seen original bases pop up on eekbay every once in awhile. I almost bought them for spares as I think the K8s and 9s are the same. I passed as I was wondering how the would ever get damaged at least in my possession.
 
OK, just made some measurements. The bases are 11.5 x 15 at the bottom, with the front mounted even with the front baffle of the speaker. The speaker is canted 11 degrees back, and you can see in the attached picture the routing around the edge. I'm not sure what sort of wood it is; the speakers themselves are made of particle board, but I don't think the bases are (could be hardboard, I supposed; I don't know if MDF would be strong enough to take the forces involved). The finish is flat black paint and is somewhat rough (although it's possible that the previous owner didn't take care of them).

Thanks for getting the dimensions! Great info! What sets the angle thst places them 11 degrees canted back?

Wow, that must be a pretty thin Shim? I was thing about doing it with adjustable feet in the front, and fixed low profile feet or a rubber strip in the back.
