Infinity Kappa 9 vs RS llb

Unfortunately I have not yet had the opportunity to hear ether one but would buy one or the other unheard.
Anybody heard them both? I would love to hear your take on it. Listening to some Bishop Briggs right now with some Infinity Reference Six which sounds pretty nice...

I've heard and owned both. IIb's are definitely the clear winner... no contest. With that said, the Kappa 9's are no slouch. For me, the accuracy and responsiveness of the EMIM's over the polydomes are the determining factor. The IIb's bass is tighter and quicker, but the kappa 9's are a little more full.

Btw, the IIb's absolutely need the EQ box to bring them to their full potential. Without it, the bass is rather sluggish and the highs are way too warm. Just an fyi!

Thank you Infinity,
that is some useful info right there. I've been on the lookout for llb's for about a year now. If everything falls into place  I get to start on my music room this winter 16' x 23' x 9'
Can't wait:banana:

The IIb can be brought to an entirely new level with modifications as well. I am stunned on a daily basis by the sound I get from my IIb's, with Graz EMIM diaphragms, BobbyD EMIT diaphragms, external passive crossover with high quality parts, Cardas copper litz wiring, damped and braced cabinet, damped woofer basket, and heavily modified LFEQ box.

I had the exact same decision to make last year. After talking to a few folks, I went with the RS-IIB. I've never regretted that. I've had the EMIM's all updated with BobbyD's diaphragms and am working through the EMIT's as well.
