the pictures aren't great. speakers look to be in fine shape, but not great. certainly still beautiful, and better than mine. condition of the drivers looks to be good. i will be interested to see if they get a bid in this economy. i've seen a great pair sell for $3000. the other two or three were less than $2000 (one of them was pretty cosmetically challenged yet still went for $1600). after rebuilding the XOs (very important IMHO) and getting them some serious power, i can say that i'm absolutely in love with them. they do a lot of things very well. i'm sure they have some weaknesses, but i don't have enough experience with equipment as good as i've scraped together now to really point them out.

bottom line, i think that if you've always wanted a pair of these, and you can get some better pictures plus a confirmation that every single driver is working, you should feel good going for it :thmbsp:
 
Wonder how those sound compared to my Gammas? Atleast mine aren't sitting on a damp concrete garage floor with lamp cord feeding them....WTF?:confused:
 
At one time he had them posted for $3500.00. Didn't take him long to jack the price back up. This is his fourth different price on them.
 
ay ay ay, the percentage of white vans in that link is a little too high! i'd stay away from that guy unless you could check out in person first.
 
Yeah I noticed that. I haven't compared the phone numbers to see if the White Van varieties are his also.
 
He's got a pair of Quantum 3's for $400.00. More in my price range, but still too high - I spent $450.00 for my Quantum 2's.

Yeah butchered pair for sure. As mentioned the woofers dont "look" like Watkins as the cone looks like mylar or something similar surely not like the woofers in my pair. The mids are easily replaced with originals for a little $$ can be found on ebay regularly but the wood blocks I hope were not glued on. I'd offer him $40 not $400... and point out the butchery.
