Infinity Quantum drivers not straight???

Does anyone know why Infinity did such a poor job mounting their mids and tweeters so that they were straight and level? I have a set of Quantum 4s and both mids are crooked, and with one of the tweeters, there is a gap where the chrome edge doesn't fully cover the cutout. Take a look at the Quantum 2 brochure, the even they look crooked.

What gives? Infinity made professional level products, so I cannot understand why such shoddy workmanship could have ever been allowed. Makes no sense.

I never noticed any of mine being crooked, nor the ones one the brochure
The Quantum 4 came with an original black Emit.
Perhaps the chrome was a replacement and installed a bit off
The factory sold second "b"s at a discount

Looking at the brochure picture, I don't see anything crooked. Can you give us more details about what you're referring to in that pic?

I suspect the OP is referring to the shadow under the bottom EMIT, like the light is coming from above and right of the speaker.
The woofer shows similar shadowing, however the front of the woofer basket is above the baffle and the shadow makes sense.
The EMIT should be flush to the baffle and there should be little or no shadow.

The Quantum 4 came with an original black Emit.

When they were introduced, the smaller emit tweeters (Q4, Q5, Qa, Qb, Qe were all chrome.

My bad - when they were introduced the Q4 and Q5 were black, but by the time they hit full sales volume, there were mostly chrome.

Yes, the emits were angled by design.

That's the factory mounting for the top & bottom EMIT's on QLS-2's. The top EMIT on QLS-3's is also mounted at an angle.

Quantum 4 emit is the smaller square one mounted flat on the cabinet. Should be enough play in the screws if the are not level.

Yes, I agree here. Maybe it's the shadow that makes the tweeter look crooked, but as you said, it's flush mount... so why there would be any shadow is a bit of a mystery.

Very possible they are angled from the factory as mentioned by the posters above.
The earliest Infinity, the electrostatic had angled tweeters.
So it would not be the first time Infinty did that.
