looks like Ive blown?one of the baby Inifinity Reference E-L baby speaker which I actually love. It is distorted throughout the volume range. Is it worth spending $65 to fix it? Inspected the cone and foam surrounds and they look great and intact.Not really looking at DIY stuff. Looking for other alternatives but nothing close to this price range. A decade ago I would definitely find a cheaper alternative but not these days unfortunately where almost everyone has caught up on the value of these.

As I've stated, there is nothing that I could find in that price point that is worth replacing them. Ive seen a lot of JBL bookshelf speakers for sale actually, Klipsch Black synergy speakers brand new for $100? I would love an ADS or baby Advents speakers actually but do not want to spend a lot right now.
You love them so fix them.... 65 dollars is not a lot to fix something you really like.

Also, I see you live in southern CA. If you're near either Los Angeles or San Diego (or even one of the other largish cities) you should have access to a large vintage audio market at reasonable prices.
yes Im in Orange county,CA. for around the $65 range only vintage JBL offerings which Im not a fan of. And yeah there is a huge vintage audio market offerings out here but everyone has caught on the values of these sought after vintage audio hence prices have skyrocketed. Cannot get really lucky nowadays compared to 10 years ago.

The Infinity EL is a great little speaker. It performs on par with Boston acoustics A40. I recently reformed both. And a keen eyed observer will notice that the tweeters are swapped! One tweet in my A40s runs ~10 dB low. The infinity tweets dropped right in. The Infinity ELs served me well for a couple decades as rear surrounds in my video rig. They’ve also done time on my desk. Great little speakers.

FWIW I think they sound nice. My dentist had those in his office since the 1980's and after a few of them developed rotted foam surrounds gifted me all eight he had in the office.
