Infinity RS-II vs Quantum 3

They are not the same EMITs as on the RS-II, RS-III, etc. They look taller and more narrow.
I think some of the Q series used the full line source EMIT, while other (smaller) models used the half length EMIT.

Have to be looking right at them ....part of the evolution of the emit, they kept getting better....

I heard a pair of recapped QLS-1's at a friends house once being driven by a Krell power amp and it was the best thing I have ever heard (and this guy has owned nearly every model of high end vintage Infinity speaker out there). I recently located a set of restored QLS-1's for a good price and I am going to get them and see how they sound.

Just realized I never posted an update on the QLS-1's, but they are now in my possession and I've loving them. I also recently picked up a decent pair of Quantum 5's with the factory metal stands, but the Watkins woofers had been replaced with junk aftermarket units. I have an extra Watkins 12" DVC woofer that should work for the Quantum 5 and am hoping to pick up another woofer shortly.

I can speak from experience that the Quantum 2 sounds much more open than the Quantum 3. I have a restored set of Quantum 3s. They sound great in one sense, but a bit dark at times, in my opinion. Perhaps the bass overpowers the mid?

I have both Q3's and 2 sets of RS II. The Q3's are 4 way speakers and sound somewhat better then
the RSII's. The imaging is better with the Q3's. I had the Q3 woofers done over by Watkins with the larger magnets.
I run them with a MPA 3250 monster amp 250 8ohm 400 4 ohm and 750 2 ohm.
