Infinity RS1001 Refoam

I need some advice. I need to refoam a pair of Infinity RS1001's and the woofer size is sometimes listed as 4.5" and on other sites I see the part number (902-4151) for the driver listed as 5".

The foam I am looking at on the bay states: inside diameter 3 1/4 inches, angled

outside diameter 4 3/4 inches

will fit cone diameters of 3 5/8 inches

outside roll diameter 4 1/4 inches

Would I be wrong to order that?

Thanks!

I think those foams might be a little too big. Those are 4 1/2" woofers, or 11.4 cm. There are a lot of sources for foam so make sure you get the right size. Do a little searching on AK and you will find some good sources. I refoamed a pair of 1001's and I am listening to them as I type this as my computer speakers through a small Pioneer receiver and a Polk Audio subwoofer. The 1001's only go down to 70hz, but the sound is actually quite decent for what they are. The sub gives it a little low end, albeit not incredibly accurate. Good luck.:thmbsp:

I'm with tlgibbs. When you order tell the order taker what model you have. I bought mine at Simply Speakers and they were happy to check their database and send me what I needed.

I have done RS1001's myself (see photo below), plus a lot of larger woofers (like the 10" in the Fishers XP-65's, top right, were a breeze). It seems that the smaller the woofer the slower I had to go to not to make a mess. And I did mess my 1001's. For me they're just harder to handle when they're small. Good luck.
