Since he does say that buyer must make arrangements to pick them up or have them shipped, I'd at least investigate further. If local pick-up is possible, is local inspection allowed, before bidding? I would believe it in a flash, if I were local to them and could drive over and see them with my own eyes. A con artist could offer local pick-up but NOT local inspection... but it would at least be worth the effort to ask, and try to see them.

At this point, I'd call this listing 50/50 - might be fraud, but might be real. Worth keeping an eye on, or pursuing if you are within reasonable-cost shipping distance. Since I'm sitting in Hong Kong --almost diametrically opposite on the globe-- I'll pass on this pair. :sigh: But I hope if this IS real, that someone here gets 'em! :yes:
 
I am on the other side of the country and otherwise in no position to try for these. I was just astonished to see a pair listed and puzzled at the manner in which it was done. It will be interested to see how it pans out in the next day or two.

I emailed him and his reserve is 2500.00. They have 6 10" woofers per side and 7 mids and 4 tweeters. He gave me his Phone Number and said I could inspect them before the end of the auction. I really don't have the cash flow to pick these up right now but I thought I would pass on the details that I fished up . If in good shape are they worth the min. or can we discuss that here?

Well, if legit, the seller gets my "Mr. Low Key" award for sure.

Three days into a 5 day listing for a rare set of Infinity's and still no photos.

Still smells a bit off to me.

I guess I'll just follow along and see what happens.
 
Well there is another thing that gets me is that he Is located in Wildwood, NJ, but says the speakers are in Maderia Beach FL. I'll just sit back and see what develops as in the real picture!

Hmmm. He could be relocating. Keep his email address in your back pocket in case they don't make reserve. He might take a lower offer. Persistance might pay off for a local buyer.
