Infinity RS3b Project

Hi All,

Just scored a pair of Infinity RSIIIb's. They are just monster monoliths in my room. Nice deep bass thump and quite detailed and smooth. They throw out a big room filling sound.

Looking forward to fixing these up. They need a fair bit of work. Cabinets need to be stripped back and re-finished. Some joker did a poor refoam of them, splicing together larger foam rings. the Foam diffuser pads that goes around the tweeters and mids is gone, missing pot knobs. Not sure if they used electrolytics inside these, will take a look. Will be a good project will upload pics as I go.

Anyone know a suitable foam to use to replace the foam pad that was around the mids and highs.

How did your RS3B's come out after restoration? I just traded for a pair, and they need some cabinet work. I'm not an expert in the furniture refinishing art, but I'm going to give it a shot. I'm also going to update the crossovers, clean the pots, replace the internal dampening material, and add/fix bracing. I also purchased new tweeter diaphrams.
