Infinity RS6b speakers + NAD 3150?

Hi there,

My current amp is an NAD 3150. I have the opportunity to pick up a pair of Infinity RS6bs for $200 and I'm wondering whether the NAD has enough juice to power the Infinity's? From what I've read, the latter need a fair amount of oomph to really shine. For reference, my current speakers are ELAC Debut B6.2s, and I'm hoping the Infinity's are a decent step up.

FWIW, I'm also potentially picking up a Kenwood KA 7100 for $40, so that could pair with the Infinity's, but apparently one of the Kenwood channels is out, so who knows if it will actually work.

NAD amps have good current capability, and perform well on most speakers. In fact, my 1st system started with a NAD 3140 and my AR90's. While not an optimum combination, for the low level listening I prefer, the NAD did fine. Actually, very good. So, I'd certainly give your 3150 a shot. I think it'll work without issue, and sound fine.

I’ve listened to the NAD 3150 before. It’s a great 50wpc amp and honestly, it’s kind of difficult to say anything bad about it. It produced silky smooth sound and it received great reviews back in the day. I think it will go well with those Infinities. The NAD’s power should be enough for those speakers and will produce some lovely sound

You should be fine with the NAD/RS6b combo as long as you don't try to push them too hard. I had a pair of RS5bs running off my NAD 7060 with no issues but mostly listening to jazz at moderate levels.
