Infinity Service Bulletin -- EMIM Repair

The service bulletin gives a step by step procedure for taking apart an EMIM and replacing the diaphragm. BTW, a test procedure is included which indicates that the EMIM should be swept with a sine wave generator between 150 Hz and and 5 kHz. It notes that buzzing may be heard from the EMIM if it is swept below 150 Hz but this would not be a problem in practice since the loudspeaker crossover would remove frequencies below 150 Hz.

The bulletin applies to revisions A, B, C, and D of the EMIM. Very interesting!

The bulletin shows how to prepare the jig that is used to take the EMIM apart as well as how to replace the diaphragm. The jig is also useful if you are just cleaning internal contacts or repairing the diaphragm.

You could also look at the sticky Emit an Emim repair thread and see what you are getting into, it has pictures :D

Actually I did check that sticky out, it is excellent. I was just scanning through the Infinity folder on my PC here when I found this bulletin pdf.
