Infinity WTLC Repair

I recently purchased a vintage pair of Infinity WTLC speakers in decent shape. They sound really incredible, but I noticed that one of the speakers is playing at a lower volume than the other. After switching the wires, outputs, and even repositioning the speakers, I'm confident that there's a difference in volume. I even used REW with a UMIK-1 and verified there's about a 5 dB difference.

I'm new to speakers, but from conversations with friends, I received the suggestion to replace the capacitors on the speaker to see if it will address the volume issue. I haven't done this before, but think I can manage with my soldering skills. I've found the schematics online (https://elektrotanya.com/infinity_wtlc_200w_speaker_system_sm.pdf/download.html) and as posted elsewhere on this forum, but several users have mentioned that the 3.5 uf on the spec sheet is wrong (see post by "tubed" here: https://audiokarma.org/forums/index.php?threads/infinity-wtlc.198106/). So, I can replace the existing 6.8uf cap with a Dayton 6.8uf 250v? And a Dayton 250v 1.5 & 2.0uf caps wired in parallel to replace the 3.5uf cap?

I'm trying to follow thundermntn's post on this thread (https://audiokarma.org/forums/index.php?threads/infinity-wtlc.198106/), but I'm new to this.

Would appreciate any help!

You're better off removing and examining the existing caps if you want to recap it the same as it was. Infinity sometimes changed specs on the fly and those changes weren't always reflected immediately in the schematics. The old caps should have their nominal values printed on them.
 
I suspect the problem is the woofer in the "bad" speaker.

Before you recap, use a meter to compare DC resistance of the drivers (woofer vs woofer, mid vs mid, etc.).
 
I'm struggling to remove the back panel. I searched online and seen a number of disassembled WTLC speakers, but don't see any instruction on how to remove the plate in the back.

Can't help with back plate removal, but it appears they attach from the inside.

Why do you need to remove it?
 
It looks as if it would not be difficult to pull the drivers, although you may need to replace the gaskets afterwards, depending upon what Infinity used. No big deal either way.

Removing the woofers is the usual way of accessing them for testing and for accessing the crossover. Most easily done with speakers lying on their backs.
