Info on some German speakers?

Hey guys,

I just picked up a pair of Canton Ergo SC-L speakers today, along with a Canton AV950 center speaker. I cannot find much information online about these speakers at all. They sound pretty rad. I'm not digging the white finish as much, but they are some awesome looking speakers and have a nice velvet like finish under the grill. Does anyone have specs on these and some more information or experience with these, and if I should use these rather than my Polk SDA-1Cs?

Thanks!

The Canton Ergo SC-L is a tall, floorstanding speaker. Threeway, two woofers, bassreflex port on the front. What set it apart, besides the immaculate build quality, is the active RC module which works a lot like the Kef KUBE. It's a small box that you put between pre- and poweramp, or in the tapeloop if you've got an integrated amplifier. It's a 5-step equalizer that allows you to adjust the low end response to the room properties.
Specs of the Canton Ergo SC-L are (with the RC module):

Build: 1992 - 1996
Size: 1050 x 255 x 307 mm (H x W x D)
Weight: 23,5 kg
Price when new: 2500 Euro / 5000 DM / around 3000 dollar
Woofer: 2 x 220 mm long throw
Mid: 1 x 160 mm
tweeter: 1 x 25 mm Aluminium/manganese dome
Power handling: 200 Watts continous / 350 W peak
Efficiency: 90 dB/1W/1m
Distortion: under 0,6%
Frequency response: 18 - 30.000 Hz
Crossover points: 300 / 3500 Hz
Impedance: between 4 - 8 Ohm

If you haven't got the RC module you can still use the Cantons. Some listeners feel that without the module the sound is uneven, with a bit too muc treble. Others prefer to listen without the module, so you have to judge for yourself.

I don't have the RC module for them, unfortunately. You can tell these were stored in someone's garage, because they aren't as pretty as I'd like them to be.
