Hello,
Just purchased a cool little refurbished Telefunken Sonata 5183WK console unit.
It came complete with all the paperwork (tuner and TT booklet, as well as German/USA tube cross reference and schematic).
We primarily bought it so we could start spinning our 45's on a changer.
Some of the 45's are a little rough, so I don't want to subject my primary systems cartridge to them.
As relative newcomers to the vintage vinyl/audio world, we've really enjoyed our Sansui 9090db. always wondered about the purported difference between SS and tubes; definitely see a difference that I like, but still hard to quantify, except to call the tube sound "warmer".
At any rate, I'm not finding much info on this unit.
All I know about it thus far is that Telefunken built them between 1961 and 1963 (I think?).
I'm hoping some on this forum is interested in these units, and can maybe share more information on them?
Thank you!
