I've already got a fair bit of Marantz, but nothing like this. For sale nearby, for $750.
Includes #2- Model 940 Floor 4-way Speakers - Model 6350Q Turnatble - Model #2110 Tuner - Model #1180DC Amplifier/EQ - Model #5030B Cassette Deck [ Needs new Drive Belts to run.] Model ST-500 Digital Tuner - Marantz Glass Door Wood Audio Rack Cabinet with caster wheels.

It is vintage obviously and that's one thing that makes me hesitate. What do you guys think and anyone with experience with this era Marantz, as opposed to all the 22XX and maybe compare to the 120\3300\250 series?

From 79-81 era, good units, Tuner is TOTL, with scope, almost worth the 7650 by it self.
1180 was a good integrated

Decent price. Not a bargain, but better than a fair price IMHO. The 1180DC is a very nice integrated amp. 90 wpc. I believe it is basically a 170DC amp and 3250 pre amp combined. Kind of rare and the 170DC is highly regarded. Some believe it's probably the best under 100 wpc amp made. Very nice TT. Those 940 DS speakers are killa. The 2110 is not TOTL. The 2130 was. But it's a decent tuner and has a scope. I would run if I were you...

I dont know if its the same seller but about 2 months ago a very similar setup was advertised in your area. I called over and over with no response. It was priced at $700 then.
The 1180dc is a very good amp I believe. Im using one with my Cornwalls( yeah its a little overkill) .If you can get them to talk to you it would be worth your time to pick this up regardless what you plan on doing with it. Eric

YES!

Good stuff, reasonable price.

That tuner was $200-300 a few years ago when I found mine. The pre-amp is $200-$300. The amp doesn't show much but should easily be $200-$300. TT is useful and worth something (I don't know Marantz TT but I see some wild numbers...) Cassettes, :dunno: I don't use them anymore. Speakers, :dunno: I do know that some Marantz speakers fetch good money, those look like the good ones.

Those were my dream speakers from the late 1970's. I finally got a pair in '79. They ARE beautiful cabinets, but I dumped them within 6 months because they sounded awful IMHO.

I got ahold of the guy - found I knew him. Turns out it was gone, someone from Kansas City came up and purchased for more than the asking price.

Oh well, I have enough Vintage Marantz and only a few pieces still work flawlessly, even after normal maintenance (no recapping). The others all have little problems.

That's my way of feeling better about not getting it. After all, how much vintage does a guy need? LOL.

Oh, I see a 4270 just came up locally. I better call the guy! (joking).
