info wanted on Parasound P/LD 1500 pre

Does anyone know about the Parasound P/LD 1500 pre amp?

I cannot seem to find much online about this John Curl-designed vintage pre.
There is a lot online about the P/LD 1100 and 2000 models but not much about the P/LD 1500.

I am wondering how it compares to the Parasound P/LD 1100 and Parasound P/HP 850 models (I know the P/LD 2000 is the best of the bunch but that is beyond my budget).


I will be using the pre strictly for 2 channel set up (to match my Parasound HCA 1500A power amp).

I had one for a number of years. Smoked the P/HP 850 that I previously owned, with much better build quality. Keep in mind that it doesn't have a phono section.

The P/LD 1500 seems like a great pre. I will get one used for $199 so it seems like a good deal.

I do have a Thorens TD 160 tt and like to spin vinyl once or twice a week so I would need a separate phono pre amp or phono stage since the Parasound P/LD 1500 doesn't have a phono section. Any ideas on what might be a good phono pre for the Parasound P/LD 1500 and HCA 1500A combo and Thorens 160 tt (with Shure M97xe cartridge).
