Here's what I know:-
>GLL is the foreshortened name of Goodman's Loudspeakers Limited.
>I'm unsure if it's true as it's information gleaned from decades of hearsay but they appear to have been the inventors & Pioneers of the Passive High Frequency Unit (Bullet Tweeter) Technology that earned their various models the name "Imagio."
>The name Imagio isn't just a marketing technique, the superb dynamics provided by their front facing Bass ports & "Bullet Tweeter" create a, so far, unrivalled audio sound field imagery.
>The "Bullet Tweeters," unlike almost every other set of speakers there had been before or since, are not powered by the crossover but rather they are powered, passively, by the vibrations provided by the surrounding unit.
I currently own 2 sets of GLLs. My favourite is my Imagio 258-TLs which are ported both front & rear, you can't run anything too bassy on them because of how efficient this makes them & a pair of Imagio 110s which I currently use to run ALL sound from my TV, films, Games, TV all of it & because I use my Vintage Hitachi Receiver I can also play back the radio & anything I have on either an MD or CD. It's worth noting that I run them in tandem with a set of 15 XRs from Celestion which help with their slight lack in bass but as for the high end and mid-range I'd say that the XRs & the 110s are well matched.
I attempted this setup with both Celestion 33s & a Rotel RX803 receiver but the Xrs & the hitachi work better in this particular setup.
It's worth noting that I have NO specs for these GLLs, I can't find ANY reference for either the 258s or the 100s ANYWHERE. If you'd like I'd appreciate any information you can give on either GLL, the Imagio Series or just the 110s & 258s, what, I suppose, you could call my obsession with GLLs stated with the 258s which I bought for £50, other than that I've no real value for them but so far I have NEVER seen another pair ANYWHERE so if you have even a ballpark value I'd be intrested to hear it, if you think I'm wrong about any of my facts please, feel free to correct me just, please, do it nicely.
