Sorry about all the questions, I want to get the right gear, And wanted to make sure I am on the right track.

I just bought a instek GOS-620 20MHz Oscilloscope new in un-opened box for $200

I see in the list of things needed for repair the one sugested was the Tektronix 465B 100 MHz Dual Trace&Channel Oscilloscope


Am I OK with the instek or should I get the Tektronix 465B 100 MHz Dual Trace&Channel Oscilloscope
And re-sale this one??

I believe Instek is building for Agilent these days. i don't have any direct experience with the Instek OEM stuff, but Agilent is pretty picky about their OEM's

The difference between 60MHz and 100MHz, from my experience in practice, is not really anything to worry about. I've used some pretty tired Tek 465's and was glad to get fresher scopes. As good as the Tektronix stuff is, it does get tired and misses some of the newer technology features available to day.

What is your main focus in using the scope?
 
I bought 127 vintage tube radio's from a sale and also have massive tube amps and many others things. I have bought some books and am teaching myself as I go along. I also bought a Heathkit beginners course with all books and projects to learn off of.

Doing this for fun and to better myself.

Also the Instek is a 20MHz and the Tektronics is a 100MHz.
So your saying this unit will be fine. I am also gong to get a Fluke 179 today. new for $150
Just working on collecting all the gear I need for this new adventure.

Sorry, I mis-read. 20MHz... 20MHz is fine for most things audio. The bandwidth will be a little bit low for looking at things like a CD player's eye-pattern, or getting really good looks at FM signals, but 20MHz will cover about 90% audio troubleshooting.

For working on tube stuff, make sure you get a scope probe that will handle the high voltages if you intend on sticking the scope probe on the high voltage stuff. Most scope inputs top out at 100~300 volts.
