So I've gotten used to the current sound of my system with the Opera D-Linear 15 power conditioner. The second item I was asked to review is the Elrod Statement Silver power cable. I have had this cable plugged in to my system during the day while I'm at work to give it some run in time, approx. 35 hours so far so it's not burnt in yet. I decided it was time to start the listening process anyway. As with the Opera D-Linear 15, a major change is obvious. For this one though, you should hang on to your socks because it will blow them away!!! As soon as the needle landed on the album I had spinning on my table, the sound just exploded through my music room. I played the lp at exactly the same settings, same tt, everything, but the I couldn't believe my ears. It's like the cable grabbed the volume and gave it a clockwise twist and added a bunch more instruments into the mix, because I certainly hadn't heard some of those notes before. The soundstage has just been enlarged dramatically, with the placement of all the instruments vastly improved. To boot, each instrument is given it's own space around it enhance the detail to new heights. This cable is definitely a game changer. I never would have believed a power cable could make such a dramatic improvement on a system. The clocks ringing on Dark Side of the Moon are so real and right in your face. I've never heard them so detailed before. This is a large cable, and I mean large. I have my system quite close to the plug, so I had to place the power conditioner in such a position for the power cable to be able to connect without kinking, after all, I don't own it….yet. This is not a cheap cable, but it is the biggest improvement to your entire system you can make. It not only improved the sound of the amp but to every source plugged into the system. As it was put to me …. Before you upgrade individual components of your system, give this a try! Now that is sound advice.
