OK, after a little research, it seems these are probably overpriced because there is a pair on eBay with a BIN price $25 lower than the CL ad.

This particular speaker is known as a D-4 Design Acoustic.
From what I read, this was an " Audio Technica " offering.

TimeWindow ripoff? I think I had some Design Acoustic speakers that sounded pretty good actually, made in Ohio for Technics if I remember right...
 
They are pretty decent, and look spectacular. Being a very old line, and obscure, he won't be entertaining many offers, but you can do much, much worse for $150.
 
The eBay pair would need to add the cost of shipping and that is expensive for large heavy speakers. You have to figure that in unless you are local
