Good morning,

I've always had a fondness for solid audio equipment and prized myself on being a step above what most people had, but when my AT LP-60 died I decided to start to really look into what I can do to build a nice sound system that isn't centered around my home theater system. It also helps that I just bought my first house and finally have space to set things up properly and can install binding plates into the wall and new circuits.

I've got a Fluance RT82 into a Schiit Mani, I've also got a Modi3+ and switched with a SYS running into a Samson Servo 200 rack mount power amp. I'm currently using a pair of Bose 201's that I swapped the woofers on, and I'm looking for a nice matching set of tweeters, and I'm shopping speakers, and my hope is to get something vintage and a little weird or obscure, but I'm gonna enjoy auditioning all kinds of equipment. I have a real soft spot for JBL, my home theater setup is the Studio One line hooked up to a Denon integrated receiver. I also started my first headFi setup with my grandfather's Panasonic RE-8420 and a Schiit Asgard 2. I've got a pair of Steel Series Arctis One that I use on there, but I'd like to try some electrostatics.

I enjoy doing modifications and building my own cables. I just made a bunch of short shielded RCAs and a nice long shielded stereo mini with some white Sommer Cable wires, and black and gold RCA plugs, and nickel and gold for the stereo mini.

I've been refrencing these forums while I scour craigslist, ebay. letgo, facebook marketplace, etc. and find models I've never heard of so I figured I should join in.

Greetings and welcome! if you want weird or obscure, might I suggest Tandberg Fasetts?
They would need a sub, but they look cool and retro.

Welcome! I've been curious about the Fluance tables. What is your impression of it?
Great build quality, and it's got everything you want out of a solid turntable, servo controlled speed, cue lever, adjustable counterweight and anti-skate, no extraneous extra junk like built in phono stage or bluetooth. Also the finish is amazing, it looks so good my girlfriend wants to redo all the wood in our house to the same stain. Oh and you get this all at an unbeatable price.

Well, you "figured" correctly,

Welcome to the AK Crew.

Great background and info bank;

Yer a fit, m'8!

Just bought a pair of JBL L16 Decades that need a refoam on the woofers, the veneer replaced, new grill frames, and probably the pots cleaned out. It's gonna take a little work, but I think it will be worth it when I'm done. The surrounds and glue show up today and the contact cleaner comes in Wednesday.
