I've never been a member, but have floated in and out of here for years to glean info from posters here, and I THANK YOU!!!
Timopaint's the name, art's my game. I live to paint, and do so to sonic sounds. As best as I can muster, without having ever been a true collector of top equipment.
I bought a stereo setup, my very first purchase after bolting a monster ex and getting my own place. I've had it ever since.
Upgraded my JBL N38s (purchased 22 years ago, and still sound new) with a pair of JBL 4800s I found this morning at a resale shop for $100. Perfect condition.
Just hooked them up. I'm blown away. Again. Like the first time I heard by N38s. Unbelievable.
Almost 60 yrs old and I feel like a kid again!!!
The studio that rocks for over 13 years running will now rock even harder. Always wanted another set of JBLs to use my Speaker A/B selections.
I've always felt JBLs gave the best low and high volume sound at immense value. This confirms, again.
I knew they'd be good after taking the screens off and giving the components a good look for cracks, care, etc. Best part was jumping in here and hearing what you folks had to say on the 4800s, and the crystalline pristine sonics currently rocking the house.
Have a number of rock star commissions to finish out, as that has been a big part of my business. Just finished a Jerry Garcia for a client from Boston... I'll share here. Wishing you all my best - Timo
