Tube Audio Collector
This past Saturday would of been the Raleigh Ham Fest show. The club was trying to help the widow of a member get rid of all the "stuff". All meets of course were cancelled and the Widow was having cash problems, so they had this invitation only Yard Sale. There was a total of 6 people there of which there was only 3 buyers, myself another member, like myself of the TCA and a dealer who drove 350 miles one way to get to this. They had around 35 trays of tubes sockets and whatever mixed in. Here are a few pics of the very little that I got. The "dealer" bought the most and had to pay. My fellow TCA member bought most of the junk looking trays and I got this:
For my collection, in the fourth pic the Ignitron NL-508 & the freq. standard. The last two pics is what came out of the tray with the in box tubes Syl. 6550 and many in last box 2-RCA Red base 5691 or 5692 and more. Have not tested anything yet and still to go thru the loose tubes. Also looked at two rooms full of Test EQ, just stuff mostly 1960,s They had a Hickok 539-C but would not except the offers made on that one, they are thinking about my offer since I am close by, I told them to sell on line if they want top dollar. I told two dealers about this they were afraid to go. I was masked up and stood up wind the whole time and I stayed well away from all the people there. I asked the guy who drove the 350 miles one way to get to this why, you could not tell what was here from the pictures at all, very poor pics. He told me that sales are very good online and he needed product so he rolled the dice and came. I am close and I was bored that is why I was there.
