IRS Beta bass amp/system ideas thoughts etc

For consideration, from the late Brian Cheney of VMPS regarding a QSC PL236 pro amp. The very amp I happen to own, actually.

I think the point was everything; note mention of the BBQ too. ;)

AFAIK, the original thread exists in the archives of one of the other main audio forums if there is any question of the veracity of the quote.

The Crown K2 has long been a recommended bass amp for vintage Infinities. I would think that would be a great idea for starters. Don't look past a good pro amp for this job, which is even simpler than usual, since the woofers run with no passive crossover. If they are 4-Ohm woofers wired in series parallel, the load should be 4 Ohms and not dip much below that. The servo does adjustments at line-level to compensate for impedance changes on the output end.
 
OK! I ma close to setting up my Betas....

I have my amps and pre amp:
Sonic Frontiers Power 2 (sovtek KT88s) to the mid/highs.
Crown Reference to the Bass (Plenty Stable to 2 ohms)
Audible Illusions Modulus 3B PreAmp
and Some nice interconnects

NOW I need speaker cables...FOUR of them... I run this really awesome silver jacketed Teflon coated oxygen free wire I got from a satellite (Like outter space) project on my Vintage Macintosh systems, these call for a bit more...

Suggestions....... offers.......... thoughts.......... help!
