Is $200 too much for a Realistic STA-90?

edit: Oh, I can get a Pioneer SX-550 for $195. Which would have the better sound? The STA-90 is about 2x the wattage.

edit: Details - The will be in a 12x14 bedroom, powering 4 speakers (a pair of 15" 4 ways and a pair of Polk Audio Monitor 5's).

Current system is an STA-47 and love it. Not really sure if I need more power. Maybe I should just stick to what I've got?

Reason for looking is that I'm worried I'm working the little system too hard, but the 10 o'clock position is usually loud enough (with the loudness button on). I never need to go past 12 o'clock.

The 550 is a nice one, but I wouldn’t pay that ask.
The STA 90 was manufactured during their glory years with a cost of 379.00. At 45 wpc it should wallop your 47. You’re powering 4 speakers, I don’t know how 11 watts is getting it done.

200 is spendy though. He wants eBay prices. One owner, local , can you ask questions, hear it , ? lots to consider.

Sharpstik brings up some great points. It's old and probably in need of something, which might make a great bargaining chip. 4 speakers in that space is complete madness.

The STA-90 was an ebay sale but sold a couple of hours after I posted this.

The SX-550 is on CL but is a long drive away.

The STA-47 does a great job driving the 4 speakers. It sounds great in this room.

The STA-120b would serve you well if you're a Realistic fan. Try for $100.

sx 780 has my vote but not sure what they go for now. i do know i missed the days were people on ak would ask if it was a good deal to buy said receiver or something similar for $125 and the consensus was you can get better for that p4ice.
