Is anyone running a Luxman L-509x as a preamp?

If yes why and what power amp are you using?

Before anyone shoots the down the Q, I ask as I love the sound of the amp, but feel it could do with more power to run my speakers to get the most out of them (PMC 25.26i for now ATC SCM50’s soon).

I just tried it as a Pre with my Musical Fidelity A308CR power amp and with the extra power it has the sound definitely has more weight to it.

Might be a good pre if you get the active version of those ATC speakers.

Perhaps audition some higher efficiency speakers with the 509x as well?
