I am getting following speakers. Please tell me if any of these are good.

For surroundsin HT setup
Sansui ST-100 $6/pair
Panasonic SB-zt90 $4/pair
KLH 911B - $10

KLH AV4001 - $50 (for stereo setup)

Also, in general, is KLH a good speaker brand?

KLH is a good brand but only the original KLH. The name has unfortunately been sold off and their more modern offerings are significantly less nice. Stick to the one or two digit models (i.e. 5, 6, 12, 17)

Thanks so much for clearing my confusion. I was getting all mixed up with KLHs. Some KLH models had great reviews others terrible.

I was not sure what's going on.. You made it so simple.

Thanks.

I agree with Ross, original KLH are usually pretty nice. I don't have experience with any speakers you listed, but at those prices, worth a shot :)

I've owned both modern and vintage KLH speakers, and the vintage ones were certainly better. At those prices though, it's hard to go wrong, you can always upgrade later.

As said above, the real gems are the old KLH.

That said, I have the equivalent of both KLH above. The 4000 series is a garage duty three way speaker that is very sensitive and can play loud with little power but is a tad sloppy and muddy.

The 911bs are OK as a cheap computer monitor speaker and are very particular about amplification. They sound better with some and awful with others--nothing to write home about, but for 10 bucks?

Don't know the others (actually I have the KLH AV4000 which had the Motorola Electric Piezo horn rather than the polycarbonate dome that, I believe, the 4001 has).

The original company made some wonderful speakers and some Ok speakers, in general very well thought of.

The company under Infinity ownership in the late 1970s came out with a line of computer controlled (i.e. sixth order equalized with a feedback loop) loudspeakers, models KLH1 through KLH3. Mostly unknown or ignored, but I love mine - the KLH1s in particular are fine, fine sounding speakers.

Later/more modern iterations have become sort of "just another speaker."

I love my KLH SuperOnes. They put out really decent sounds are quite pleasing to look at as well. I give KLH a thumbs up :)
