Is the term scroe against the rules or something?

Years ago when I was more active the term was used regularly as a good deal/find/holy grail find etc. to the point of ad nauseam. A quick search reveals the term has not been used in quite a while.

Why you ask? I had a situation that turned into what I believe qualifies as a scroe, but I don't want to offend anybody either so a little input from the peanut gallery please.

I personally don't care what someone pays for a find, "scroe" or not.

I'm more interested in the piece of gear itself, how it sounds, how it looks, how it's made.

Photos..... front, back, top, bottom, inside and out.

Impressions of its sound and functionality.

How it compares with other gear of its era and class.

If you want to write about your "scroe", go for it but also include pertinent information about the piece itself.

I have a few sets of ARs for sale locally on Marketplace and in response I got a message from a guy asking if I would be able to refurb a set of 3as he had inherited from his dad. My wife and I are making a retirement move next Summer-ish and I explained that I was not taking in any new work and in fact was selling off some of the nicer sets I had come across and refurbed over the years. He asked if I would be interested in a swap for a set of refurbed whatevers. He sent a pic that showed all original drivers and cloth surrounds, grill cloths in reasonably good shape. I offered a very nice set of 4x that I had put in Solens caps, changed pots to Lpads, and cabs refinished with 3 coats of Tung oil after stripping. The grill cloth was a reasonably close to OEM fabric from Michael's. Very handsome and boxes were very nice, no swollen joints and nice straight lines. I sent him some pics and he was happy to do the swap. 150 miles between us was shared and we met halfway and inspected each other's goods and made the swap. I now have an early set of AR3as to rehab in the future and he has a woking set of vintage speakers that will suit his needs just fine. Here's a couple pics of the two sets. I feel as though we both scored. BTW Heather, I don't feel old! ha

clearly the 3s have been fussed with but I like a challenge. I will likely remove the cloth and clean the hell out of it. It should shrink just enough to be perfect for a pair of 5s.
 
never mind my statement on the cloth. I held one up to the face of a 5 and in fact the 3a grill is smaller than the 5s! I forgot about the nose being wider on the 3as outer edge. sounded good on paper.
 
Back in the day, someone erroneously typed "scroe" instead of "score". It got a few laughs and caught on. This was the late 2000s when "scroes" were abundant at thrifts and yard sales, so it got used a lot. Once the market tighten up, it got used a lot less, and eventually faded away. It was fun while it lasted.

Wasn't it part of "L33T" speak years ago? I remember gamers using it a lot.
I was a big time computer gamer back then and it annoyed the heck out of me.
It wasn't that secret of a language to figure out. ;)
