Is there a way to fix the built in amp?

I bought a Denon DP - DJ 151 turntable at a pawn shop for Christmaslast year. It has a switch on the back labeled phono / line . My understanding is that the"line" side does not need a preamp. But there is almost no volume. Is there a way to fix the built in amp?

If you go to this link, scroll down to "Downloads" and you can download the manual for that turntable. It says there is a coaxial digital output, so you could try that to your receiver to at least get some use out of the turntable, if the analogue output isn't working for you.

Good luck.

Thanks for the p
Manual link. Looking it over it talks about making sure the receiver is set to MC or mm to match the cartridge? What is mm and MC?
