Good afternoon All,
I have been sitting on a Cyrus CD-T and preDAC for some time, but decided to try it out before possibly selling it, as I have some good Luxman bits and pieces. I linked the Cyrus lit up to a pair of Trio monoblocs as both the Cyrus and Trios are known to produce a very "pure" sound. The speakers are a pair of refurbished Ditton 662s, one of my favourite speakers.
Comparing the results with a Luxman D-05U and 550 AX2 amp, playing though the same speakers,, I was really surprised at the quality the Cyrus/Trio combination produces. The 662s add that little bit of richness one needs - but the clarity is wonderful.
I am now tempted to keep the Cyrus units (the upgrades for these older bits of kit are no longer available). It seems that I have hit on a really well matched set-up that is worth keeping.
