If you've got a set laying about you don't need, well yes, I'd jump on it.
 
Thought, McIntosh will hold or increase it's value, any tv................Five years from now if the tv still works ?
 
Another thing on the 2100, I've seen refurbs that suggest replacing everything but the heat sinks, sheet metal, and transformers, so that's a showstopper unless you really really want this Mac amp backing up your speakers.

I'd give up the TV just to spare myself the brain rot that comes from it. Then again, I haven't had one since I gave it away while still in high school.

With almost 20k posts on this website, maybe the lesson for you is that brain rot comes in many forms.

+1 on ditching the TV. My wife and i have been TV free since having children. I told them watching too much TV turns your brain into applesauce and they believe it ;)
 
TV is just a monitor. Looks like your TV only had one program and you couldn't turn it off. :lmao:
You have to ditch smart phones, computers and Internet as well.
This whole world is full of crap if you look for craps and full of good things if you look for good things.

On the topic, 60" TV is under 600 nowadays if you go for store brands.

I would take the 2100 any time. No room for a 60" tele and the depreciation is too much too soon. My 32" has hdmi, computer, svga, rbg, dvi and a ton of other ins and outs I have no idea what to do with them. When I bought it I figured if nothing else, I would have a big computer monitor. It is a Handspree and cost me about $200 back in 2008 or 09 from TigerDirect as a refurb. So far, so good. Blacks could be a bit better but other than that no complaints.

I'd agree that the unity coupled tube amps were Mac's engineering edge in the field, but the continued high standards and dealer/ customer support are meaningful points in today's market.
I'd still like to hear from anyone who has compared a MC250 or MC2100 to an Adcom GFA-535 1st series.
