The right decor for those would be hideous in it's own right. I remember the 50s; there were a few nice things and lots of crap, just like now I reckon.
I remember wrought (rod?) iron furniture being "the thing" for indoor furnishings along with chairs and sofas straight out of The Jetsons...and hideously large table ceramic lamps, ashtrays and other bric-a-brac.
