Isophon Saba Bookshelf speaker

Anyone ever heard these speakers before or know anything about Isophon? The original woofers were replaced, but the originals are still with them. The new woofers are Isophon also...Raumton Spezial Lautsprecher RT1318 with alnico magnet 130 x 180 mm 8500Gauss 130Hz 4,5 Ohm.

They have a nice look.

Interesting. Is there a tweeter or just a full ranger? How do they sound?

I've got a pair of Alnico Isophon 6X9's on open baffles in the garage runnign off a little Heathkit AA-32; here's the old thread:

REALLY nice midrange, and barely need a tweeter.

looks like the ones in your cabinets are ceramic magnets . . any pictures of the originals ?

Isophon has had an excellent reputation in Europe. They were quite innovative in their early years, and were one of the first producers of electrostatics (I have a pair of theirs from the early 1950s). By the late 1950s much of their production was apparently private labeled for many large European manufacturers. This has tended to obscure the quality of their products, especially in the US.
